Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI) has just released the first episode in their new video series, Rotationally Raised.
Growing oats or wheat, barley or rye is about more than just producing a crop: It's about reaping the benefits that come from adding diversity to a farm. Raising corn, soybeans, small grains and hay rotationally -- and feeding those crops to livestock -- helps farmers reduce input costs and improve their stewardship of the land.
What is "Rotationally Raised"? The series focuses on how to successfully and profitably grow small grains, from seed selection and planting to harvest and marketing.
