Organic Hard Red Winter Wheat

Hard Red Winter (HRW) Wheat is a winter annual grain seeded in the fall and harvested the following summer. It often yields more than spring wheat but has lower protein and the grain usually sells for a lower price. HRW Wheat begins growing right away in the spring and keeps soil covered during months of high erosion potential. Albert Lea Seed carries varieties developed by private and University breeding programs that offer consistent performance and reliable winter hardiness.
