Sorghum-Sudangrass

Sorghum-Sudangrass (or Sudex) is a cross between sorghum & Sudangrass that will produce extensive and tall growth during the warm summer months. It is one of the few cover crops that are effective competitors with perennial weeds, including Canada thistle, and is very useful as a summer cover crop to clean up problem, exhausted or transition fields. Given adequate heat and moisture sorghum-sudan can get up to 10-12’ tall. Plant after all danger of frost has passed.
